Research Assignment

Student will design and construct a cardboard and duct tape boat. Boat must be designed and constructed using acceptable construction practices, and specified materials. Catapult Project
Student will design and construct a Catapult that will throw a ping pong ball. The catapult will be judged on both accuracy and distance with the results being calculated by a spreadsheet.

Projectile Motion Project
Students will research the history of catapults and similar devices then build one. Students will be able to calculate the velocity of their catapult using kinematic equations. Students will use kinematic equations to adjust catapult to hit a given target.
