Front Cover	Excellent Clearly has title, author, main character, and colorful pictures shown on the cover.	Good Has three of the four required elements.	Fair Has two of the four required elements.	Poor Has one or none of the required elements.
Main character	Excellent Gives enough information about the main character so that the reader could really relate to them.	Good Has a good understanding of the character.	Fair Knows very little about the main character.	Poor Knows very little about the main and related that information in an unclear way.
Main problem	Excellent Gives enough information to show understanding of the problem and how it relates to the characters.	Good Has some information about the main problem.	Fair Knows very little about the main problem.	Poor The problem is unclear or missing.
Summary of the book	Excellent Tells about the book without giving the whole story away, but has enough information to make the reader very interested in reading the book.
