Introduction	Poor Introduction consists of 2 sentences of which one is the thesis statement and the sentences have no connection in the paragraph OR there is no thesis statment in the introduction.	Fair Introduction consists of 2-3 sentences of which one is the thesis statement and the sentences have a weak connection throughout the paragraph.	Good Introduction consists of 2-3 sentences of which one is the thesis statement and the sentences flow throughout the paragraph.	Excellent -Introduction consists of 3-4 sentences -sentences flow throughout the paragraph. -clear statement of thesis
Content	Poor -content reflects poor review of the subject matter -major gaps in content and/or errors in reasoning	Fair -content reflects partial review of the subject matter -significant gaps in content and/or errors in reasoning	Good -content reflects a satisfactory review of the subject matter -minor gaps in content or errors in reasoning	Excellent -content reflects thorough review of the subject matter -no apparent gaps in content or errors in reasoning
Length of Paper	Poor Rough Draft is 12 or less full pages in length	Fair -Rough Draft is 13-15 full pages in length -margins and/or font is questionable	Good Rough Draft is 16 -20 full pages in length -pages are properly margined and font is appropriate	Excellent Rough Draft is 20-25 full pages in length -draft is properly margined -appropriate font used
Organization	Poor Very little (less than 50%) of the paper follows the outline. There are many critical digressions from topic.	Fair Some (50-75%) of the paper follows the outline. Excellent Conclusion acurately sums up what is said in the paper and includes a restatement of the thesis sentence.
