Creative	Needs Improvement Student just presented information with no excitement or interest.	Fair Student showed some interest in presenting the information and tried to be creative.	Good Student gave information in a factual way, dressed as the person they are representing.	Excellent Student gave information as if they were an actual reporter. They dressed as the person they are representing.
Preparation	Needs Improvement Student came in and read word for word what they wrote for the written portion	Fair Student read most of what was written directly from the paper. Student did some preparation outside of class.	Good Student came in with only notes and did use occasionally. It was evident student had practiced outside of class	Excellent Student did not use or need notes. It was clear the student had spent a lot of time outside of class practicing.
Content	Needs Improvement Student had no introduction or conclusion. There were few details.	Fair Student had either an introduction or conclusion, but not both. There were some interesting details.	Good Student had an introduction and conclusion that were not fully developed. The speech was organized and had interesting details.	Excellent Student had an introduction (attention getter) and conclusion (summary). The speech was organized and details and word choices left an impression!
Delivery	Needs Improvement Student had no eye contact, was very hard to understand and was very quite	Fair Student had some eye contact, was understandable part of the time, and was able to be heard part of the time.	Good Student had a good amount of eye contact, understandable for the most part and was able to be heard for the most part	Excellent Student had excellent eye contact, was understandable and was loud enough, but not too loud.
Use of Props	Needs Improvement Student didn't use any type of prop	Fair Student had props but didn't use them to enhance presentation.	Good Student had props and used them somewhat, but could have been more effective.	Excellent Student had excellent props and the use of them enhanced the presentation. Use was also approriate.
