Summarize the text Standard RL.5.2, RI.5.2	Meets the Standard Summarizes the beginning, middle, and end using the GIST or SWBS strategy. Includes the who, what, why of the GIST or the Somebody...Wanted to...But...So...	Partially Meets Summarizes passage but leaves out 1 of the important elements.	Does Not Meet Leaves out more than one of the elements in the GIST or SWBS summary.
Main Idea/Supporting Details Standard RI.5.2	Meets the Standard Determines what is most important and identifies details that support the main idea.
