Toothpick Bridges Toothpick Bridge Building Bridge must be designed and constructed out of toothpicks and glue. The bridge must be prepared according to directions. Team Work	Level 1 Each member had a clear understanding of his/her job and performed duties well. Members were able to compromise when different opinions were held.	Level 2 Each member had a clear understanding. Had to be redirected when off task..occurred more than once but less than four times.	Level 3 Members had to be retaught job responsibilities. Teacher intervention needed to settle difference of opinions.	Level 4 Frequent absences by members caused disruption of work. Intervention was needed when there was a difference of opinion. Members had to be continually redirected to task.
Blueprint	Level 1 Bridge blueprint matches the design of the finished product and meets all of the guidelines of the bridge.	Level 2 Bridge blueprint mostly matches the design of the finished product and somewhat meets the guidelines of the bridge.	Level 3 Bridge design somewhat matches the design of the blueprint and meets limited guidelines of the bridge.	Level 4 Bridge design does not match the design of the blueprint. Was not a bridge.
Specification This score will either be awarded a Level 4 or Level 1 score.	Level 1 Bridge met the required specs: Length 12"-24" Width 2 1/2" - 2 3/4" Width up to 8"	Level 2	Level 3	Level 4 Bridge was smaller or larger than the required specs.
Structure	Level 1 Perfectly square. Bridge was prepared according to instructions.	Level 2 80%-90% square.	Level 3 70%-80% square.	Level 4 Not to specs.
Glue	Level 1 Exact amount of glue was used leaving little to no glue ring.	Level 2 Small amount of glue was, left a glue ring that did not exceed the size of a dime.	Level 3 Large amount of glue was used. Glued joint left glue ring the size of a dime to nickel.	Level 4 Excessive amount of glue used. Glued joints left glue ring the size of a nickel or bigger.
Weight	Level 1 Carried >15Lbs of Weight	Level 2 Carried 10-15Lbs of weight	Level 3 Carried 5-10Lbs of weight	Level 4 Carried <5lbs of weight.
