Novel Book Review

Comprehension Knowledge/Understanding	Level 4 Review displays an extensive understanding of the characters, plot, theme, setting and conflict in the novel.	Level 3 Review displays a clear understanding of the characters, plot, theme, setting and conflict in the novel.	Level 2 Review displays a sufficient understanding of the characters, plot, theme, setting and conflict in the novel.	Level 1 Review displays a minimal understanding of the characters, plot, theme, setting and conflict in the novel.
Identification Thinking/Inquiry	Level 4 Correctly identifies all assigned components of the project and uses textual evidence to completely analyze. Provides examples, when possible, with quotes	Level 3 Identifies some of the components of the project. Analysis is thin using textual evidence. The connection between examples and descriptions are not always clear.	Level 2 Only identifies one or two of the components of the project. Analysis is vague and/ contains a severe lack of development. Little to no textual evidence	Level 1 Fails to correctly identify any assigned components of the project. Lack of textual evidence. No analysis or development.

Level 3 Title page is somewhat clear and table of contents is somewhat organized. Overall project is complete, but could use more attention to detail.	Level 2 Title page is incomplete and table of contents is not well organized. Overall project is somewhat incomplete	Level 1 No title page or table of contents. Project is incomplete.
