Create a Creature Create a Hybrid Creature Students are creating an original animal or plant that is based on desirable traits in two different organisms. Give your animal or plant a name (i.e., Golden Doodle). Students will write a paragraph about the life of this animal & explain why you chose those particular traits. A poster or powerpoint needs to be created with a picture, a unique name and the paragraph neatly displayed. Grammar and Spelling	Below (1) Very frequent grammar and/or spelling errors.	Approaching(2) Student has five or more spelling and/or grammar errors.	Meets (3) Student has little spelling and/or grammar errors.	Exceeding (4) Student has no spelling and no grammar errors.
Paragraph Format	Below (1) The writing is not in a paragraph format.	Approaching(2) It only contains parts of a paragraph but is missing supporting sentences or a concluding sentence.	Meets (3) Contains the paragraph form correctly including a topic and concluding sentences.	Exceeding (4) Uses the paragraph form correctly including a topic and concluding sentences. Supporting sentences support the topic sentence.
Illustration and Poster	Below (1) The poster/power point was poorly made and looks messy.	Approaching(2) The poster/power point looks a little messy and unbalanced. More care should have been taken.	Meets (3) The poster/power point looks good with some care taken on the illustration and other overall appearance.	Exceeding (4) The poster/power point looks great with care taken on the illustration and other overall appearance.
