Toothpick Bridge Building

Bridge must be designed and constructed out of toothpicks, string and glue. The land must be prepped according to directions. The bridge must be built to allow passage of the ship and allow the truck to cross over the bridge.

TeamWork	Level 1 Each member had a clear understanding of his/her job and performed duties well. Members were able to compromise when different opinions were held.	Level 2 Each member had a clear understanding. Had to be redirected when off task..occurred more than once but less than four times.	Level 3 Members had to be retaught job responsibilities. Teacher intervention needed to settle difference of opinions.	Level 4 Frequent absences by members caused disruption of work. Intervention was needed when there was a difference of opinion. Members had to be continually redirected to task.
Structure/blueprint	Level 1 Bridge blueprint matches the design of the finished product and meets all of the guidelines of the bridge. Land was prepped according to instructions. Bridge held coffee can and more weight.	Level 2 Bridge blueprint mostly matches the design of the finished product and somewhat meets the guidelines of the bridge. Bridge held coffee can weight only.	Level 3 Bridge design somewhat matches the design of the blueprint and meets limited guidelines of the bridge. Did not meet specifications for the car and boat to travel. Bridge broke with coffee can weight.	Level 4 Bridge design does not match the design of the blueprint. Was not a bridge.
Reflection/Paperwork	Level 1 Daily journal turned in at end of project. Balance sheet accurate 3 things learned given to teacher.	Level 2 Daily journal lacking fewer than 3 entries.
