WeVideo Rubric 
Using WeVideo, students will create a video that can be presented to the class. The final video should serve the purpose of creatively teaching our current topic of study. In addition to documentary style, the video can be a poem, story, newscast or song....as long as the content background is conveyed to the viewer.

The video needs to have a clear purpose and a well-organized sequence.

The audience cannot understand the presentation because there is no logical sequence to the information. The content is inaccurate an unclear. The video does not help the viewer to learn the concept being studied in class.

The audience has some difficulty understanding the presentation because some of it seems to be out of order. The content is unclear at times and only somewhat effective in helping the viewer to learn the concept being studied in class.
Effective

The audience can understand the presentation because it is presented in a logical, interesting manner which can be easily followed. The content is clear and easy to understand. Because of watching the video, the viewer has a total understanding of the concept being studied in class.
Conventions

Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization are checked for accuracy.

Poor

There were more than three errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, or capitalization.
Emerging

There were 1-3 errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, or capitalization.
Effective

There were no errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, or punctuation.
Images/Clipart

All images need to create a deeper understanding of the topic. Images that are not your own need to be cited.

Poor

Less than 5 images are used and/or images are of poor quality. The images are not effective in enhancing the presentation and content. No citations are used.
Emerging

Between 5 and 10 images are used in the video, and they are of good quality. Additional images could have been used to enhance the presentation and content. Citations are given, but they may not be in proper MLA format.
Effective

At least 10 Images are used. All images are of good quality and they enhance the presentation/content. Citations are in proper MLA format.
WeVideo Elements

Extra Credit for adding your own video clip to the movie creation.

Poor

No extra WeVideo elements were used to create the video (no video clips or voice recording)
Emerging

Text, music, and either a video clip or voice recording were used. Or, so many extra elements were used that it created a very distracting and confusing final product.
Effective

The final product utilizes WeVideo elements to the fullest to create an entertaining video for the audience. Transitions, text, music and voice are effectively used on the video.
Appropriate Music

All music and sounds must be of an appropriate nature and enhance the presentation.

Poor

The video does not have two different audio choices (music and sounds or music and voice).
Emerging

Video contains at least two different audio options in the video. While the background music was not offensive, better choices were available.
Effective

The background music enhanced the emotional response to the production; it was appropriate to the theme. There were more than two different audio options in the video.
Video Length

Videos need to be at least 3 minutes in length.

The video does not meet the length requirement.

Video length is about three minutes, but extra time would have made it more powerful and effective as a teaching tool.
