Current Events Presentation Class Presentation Students are to present to the class a lesson on the assigned topic in a 20-22 minute presentation. Students are free to use any method they wish for the presentation. Video clips can not count for more than 6 minutes, and must be on important stories. 	EXCELLENT 25 pts	WELL DONE 20 pts	AVERAGE 15 pts	POOR 10 pts
Presentation	EXCELLENT Student presented keen insight and was prepared.	WELL DONE Student jumped from story to story with no real insight.	AVERAGE Student seemed to be winging it and had no real preparation, other than having picked the stories.	POOR Students did not even have stories picked ahead of time.
Topics Covered	EXCELLENT Students covered timely, important stories.	WELL DONE Students covered important stories, but ones that were more than two weeks old.	AVERAGE More than 5 minutes were spent on frivolous news stories.	POOR More than 5 minutes were spent on frivolous news stories, and the important stories were more than two weeks old.
Time on Task	EXCELLENT Studnet stayed on task during the entire presentation.	WELL DONE Student mostly stayed on task during the presentation, but went off-topic once or twice.	AVERAGE Student was off topic 3-4 times, and/or was easily distracted.	POOR Student was off topic more than 4 times, and/or was easily distracted.
Time Limit	EXCELLENT Presentation was at least 20 minutes, and the video clips were less than 6 minutes.	WELL DONE Presentation was at least 15 minutes, or the video clips were longer than 6 minutes.	AVERAGE Presentation was at least 10 minutes, and the video clips were less than 6 minutes.	POOR Presentation was less than 10 minutes, or was less than 15 minutes with a video clip longer than 6 minutes.
