	Poor 5 pts	Fair 10 pts	Good 15 pts
Vocabulary	Poor Student has less than three words and no definitions.	Fair Student has three words but not all of them are defined. Not all words have an original sentence.	Good All three words and definitions are present. All three words have an original sentence.
Questions	Poor There are less than 2 questions written.	Fair Student has two questions but they are not thoughtful or relevant to the article.	Good Student has two well thought out questions.
Close Reading	Poor The article shows only markings from the required 5 items - questions and vocabulary.	Fair The article has 6-8 markings as evidence of close reading.	Good There are 9 or more markings of close reading.
Reflection	Poor Reflection is less than 5 sentences in length and does not show thought and understanding.	Fair Reflection has at least 5 sentences but could show more evidence of understanding.	Good Reflection is 5 or more sentences in length and shows evidence of thought and understanding.
