The students will create an invention in response to technology that is problematic in order to practice their English speaking skills.

Response to a Problem	Excellent Student was able to give a detailed explanation of a problematic form of technology, where the inspiration was found for the creation of the invention, and the intended use.	Proficient Student was able to give a detailed explanation of a problematic form of technology for the creation of the invention and some details about the use.	Acceptable Student was able to give an explanation of a problematic form of technology for the creation of the invention and vague information about the use.	Limited Student was not able to give an explanation of his/her inspiration for the creation of the invention nor examples of the use.
Problem Solving	Excellent Student showed considerable insight into problems that may occur from use of his/her invention.	Proficient Student showed insight into problems that may occur from use of his/her invention.	Acceptable Student showed limited insight into problems that may occur from use of his/her invention.	Limited Student did not consider any problems that may occur from use of his/her invention.
Professionalism	Excellent Student remained on task at all times and displayed a serious attitude toward the presentation and/or the creation of an invention. Presentation Elements	Excellent Introduction and conclusion were included and caught the audience's attention. Good transitions were used. It was easy to follow. Vocab and grammar from unit were used.	Proficient Introduction and conclusion were included and somewhat caught the audience's attention. Transitions were used and audience could follow along. Vocabulary was used.	Acceptable Either an introduction or conclusion was included but not both. A few transitions were used. Some parts of the presentation seemed unorganized.	Limited An introduction nor a conclusion were included. Speaker did not use transitions. Organization was very difficult to follow.
