Illustrated Gardening Terms/Literary Device Glossary

Students will create a "book" which explains and illustrates 25 gardening terms. Terms will be put in alphabetical order, numbered, and defined with grammatical accuracy while using a literary device to further explain.

ILLUSTRATIONS Any or all of the following may apply.	Poor 15 Missing numerous illustrations and/or numerous illustrations do not convey the meaning of the term accurately	Good 20 Most illustrations convey the meaning of the term accurately	Excellent 25 Most illustrations convey the meaning of the term accurately and abstract terms are well illustrated. Pictures are used accurately.
VISUAL APPEAL Any or all of the following may apply.	Poor 15 Poorly assembled. Visible staples, tape or glue. Pages not secure. Poor choice of materials. Pictures of poor quality. Black and white. Looks thrown together. Not properly bound. Lacks evidence of planning and adequate time devoted to production.	Good 20 Clear evidence of planning in terms of choice of materials. Illustrations and use of pictures are approopriate. Adequate time devoted to production and assembly. Generally neat and visually appealing. Meets expectations.	Excellent 25 Clear evidence of planning in terms of choice of materials. Illustrations and use of pictures is superior. Perfectly assembled. Exceeds expectations.
GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY	Poor 15 Numerous grammatical mistakes: misspelled words, words not alphabetized, capitalization errors.	Good 20 Some grammatical errors that include misspelled words, capitalization errors, or words not alphabetized.	Excellent 25 No grammatical mistakes. All terms are spelled correctly, capitalized, and alphabetized.
