Presidental Reconstruction Essay 
Students will demonstrate their understanding of the Presidental Reconstruction efforts and the policies which impacted Georgia and the other southern states by answering the following questions: 1. Why did the US during the Presidental Reconstruction not let former Confederatte officers and wealthy landowners vote? This discussion must include the "old power" structure in Georgia and the South and how they think it would change by this voting policy. 2. How do you think Georgia and the South changed with the passing of the 13th Amendment?
