Written Report	Thorough Understanding of Both Compares the similarities of the book and movie as well as the differences between the two genres. With many supporting details. Uses transitional words when moving from one event to another event. Student gives their opinion on which genre they preferred with supporting evidence.	Understanding of Both Includes all the requirements of the report: Some similarities and differences are evident. Uses some transitional words when moving from one event to another event.	Partial Understanding both Does not include all the requirements of the report, missing either similarities or differences. Lacking supporting details.	Does not meet standards Very little information about the book, or movie. Missing all the components of a comparison essay.
Oral Report	Thorough Understanding of Both Complete comparison with interesting facts. Relaxed, direct eye contact, maintains audience interest.	Understanding of Both Complete comparison. Comfortable, reasonable eye contact with audience, satisfactory variation of volume and inflection.	Partial Understanding both Comparison is not complete.
