Terrarium / Ecosystem

Students will be building a terrarium and aquatic ecosystem using the guidelines given. The system will be monitored daily for 2-3 weeks. Students will also be create diagrams and explanatory paragraphs for the carbon, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide / oxygen cycles , as well as man's possible disruption of these cycles. A daily log/data will be kept on the growth and development of the ecosystem

Terrarium Construction	Poor Terrarium is not at all viable due to its construction.	Fair Terrarium is poorly composed - i.e. inadequate soil, missing components	Good Contains at least 2 plants that are suited for their type of terrarium, proper layering of components.
Terrarium Maintenance	Poor Terrarium is rarely checked. Little to no effort is made to remediate any problems.	Fair Terrarium is checked sporadically. Adjustments are minimal / ineffective.	Good Terrarium is checked at least 2x per week for water balance, mold, improper sunlight. Adjustments are made to remediate any problems.
