Student does not follow directions well and does not work on lab project with group members. Student is generally off task during assignment. No indication that the directions were followed. Student is observed waiting for others to do work so they can copy from them.
Approaching standards

The student completed some work and followed the directions mostly. Almost completed all the work, with more errors than normal. Student needed continuous teacher guidance.
Meeting standards

The student completed the work well and followed the directions with very few teacher prompts. He/she completed the work in the correct manner with few errors.
Exceeds Standards

The student followed the directions very well and was able to create a complete work without errors. Only using teacher as a facilitator.

The lab is done quickly as if is was done in a few minutes or copied from lab partner. The work is sloppy and careless. No or little attention to detail.

The work is done more carefully with some good execution, and followed some lab rules. Some limitations with regard to student following and paying attention to lab rules. Student pictures are not detailed with lots of imperfections.
Meeting standards

The lab is highly and carefully executed. Student pictures have some detailed and the sketched image is almost close to the actual microscopic image. There is good attention to scientific steps and methods.
Exceeds Standards

The lab is extremely well executed. Student pictures are detailed and close to perfect. There is great attention to detail.
