Student usually reports to class on time. Usually begins class in seat with instrument assembled although sometimes may not be ready when class is to begin. Sometimes does not warm-up with appropriate exercises.

Student has difficulty arriving to class on time. Frequently is not in seat and/or does not have instrument assembled. Has difficultly organizing the day's agenda before class gets underway. Student uses warm-up time to play inappropriately loud or not at all.
Poor
Student has major difficulty arriving to class on time. Has major difficulty being ready when class is to begin. Student makes little to no effort to be ready and may use other student's materials instead of their own (even when materials are present in the room). Student does not use warm-up time appropriately: may play other student's instruments, may play too loudly or not at all.

Has major difficulty following directions the first several times they are given. Students has trouble respecting others' space. Usually bothers others while they are playing.
Rehearsal Participation

Student always plays their instrument during 100% of rehearsal. Student demonstrates playing position when conductor begins. Student is ready for the beginning of each piece, carefully counts measures of rest and makes entrances at the right time. Student makes reminder notes for themselves without being told to do so.
Good
Student plays their instrument during most of rehearsal. Student usually demonstrates playing position when conductor begins. Student is usually ready for the beginning of each piece, frequently counts measures of rest and usually makes entrances at the right time. Student usually makes reminder notes for themselves without being told to do so.
Fair
Student plays their instrument for a 50% or less portion of rehearsal. Student sometimes demonstrates playing position when conductor begins. Student is not usually ready for the beginning of each piece, does not carefully count measures of rest and frequently misses entrances. Student rarely makes reminder notes for themselves without being told to do so.
Poor
Student has great difficulty playing their instrument during most of the rehearsal. Student does not demonstrates playing position when conductor begins. Student is not ready for the beginning of each piece, does not carefully counts measures of rest and does makes entrances at the right time. Student does not make reminder notes for themselves even when being told to do so.
