Illustration: a key part of the story	Poor Illustration appears duplicated from original in the story.	Fair Illustration is original and shows skill.	Good Illustration is original, shows talent, and could be placed in the story as a believable addition.
Description: an important line from story	Poor Writer fails to successfully explain or show the purpose the illustration adds to the story. Writer has a few grammatical or spelling errors.	Fair Description explains adequately the reason for the illustration. Description may be limited grammatical or spelling errors.	Good Description captures the event and thoroughly and explains the value of the illustration.
Creativity	Poor Illustration was neat but needed additional information added for more appeal.	Fair Illustration showed great effort at originality that add to the story.	Good Illustration showed unique style and exceptional talent and skill.
