Title 5 %	Excellent Title page includes student's name, subject, teacher and science fair date right justified. Title is bold-faced, centered mid-page and concisely addresses project topic.	Good Title page is missing one of the following: student's name, subject, teacher and science fair date right justified. Title addresses project topic.	Poor Title page is missing two of the following: student's name, subject, teacher and science fair date right justified. Title somewhat addresses project topic.	Incomplete Title page is missing several components and is difficult to understand.
Background Information 30 %	Excellent Student introduces specific, testable topic question, provides background information on science concepts related to the question, and explains procedure.	Good Student introduces specific, testable topic question, provides background information on some science concepts, explains procedure.	Poor Student introduces specific, testable topic question, but provides little background information on science concepts related to the question. Does not explain procedure..	Incomplete Student is missing two or more of the following: topic question, background information, procedure.
Hypothesis 15 %	Excellent Hypothesis is testable and directly relates to the question. At least two reasons are given for making this hypothesis.	Good Hypothesis is testable, directly relates to the question. One reason is given for making this hypothesis.	Poor Hypothesis correlates to the purpose, but is difficult to test. No reasons are given for making the hypothesis.	Incomplete Hypothesis does not answer the research question and is not testable.
Procedure 20 %	Excellent All steps are correctly stated. Includes at least 5 steps.	Good All steps are correctly stated. Includes at least 4 steps.	Poor All steps are correctly stated. Includes at least 3 steps.	Incomplete No steps or steps are stated incorrectly.
Overall Content 30 %	Excellent Student uses correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling throughout the report. Report flows from one idea to the next. Content is correct and complete.	Good Student has fewer than five mistakes in the report. Report jumps from one idea to the next, but does display clear understanding of the project	Poor Student have several misspelled words, poor grammar and poor punctuation. Report does not flow and is difficult to understand.	Incomplete Report shows lack of effort and is unclear thoughout.
