Honors Conversations Rubric

Students will create 15 total text message conversations that reflect the actions and attitudes of notable characters from Ancient history.

Historical Conversations
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Historical Accuracy	Poor Conversations do not reflect the historical time period.	Fair Some attempts at historical accuracy are present. There is a limited connections to the time period.	Good Student grasps the historical significance of the conversations and creates some connection to time period. Needs some development to reflect accuracy.	Excellent Student demonstrates a full knowledge of the significance, accuracy, and time period through the conversations.
Character Development	Poor No attempts at character development are present. Conversations do not reflect the nature of the key figures involved.	Fair Some attempts at including character development are present, but not reflective of who the historical figures really were.	Good Conversations reflect on who the historical figures were and shows consideration for character development within.	Excellent Excellent demonstration of character development within conversations. Careful consideration for who the historical figures were is evident.
Content	Poor The conversations have no historical topic, or focus.	Fair The conversations have a minor historical topic and little focus.	Good The conversations have a distinguishable historical topic and focus.	Excellent The historical topic is easy to identify and follow. Focus is precise and efficient.
Creativity	Poor No creative force was put into the work. Conversations are not well organized.	Fair Some creative force was put into the work. Conversations are somewhat organized, but are still unclear.	Good Student shows creativity in their presentation and work. Conversation ideas are clearly expressed.	Excellent Conversations shows a great deal of creativity and expression. Ideas are well presented and timely.
Number of Conversations	Poor Student completes less than ten total "conversations" AND focuses on only one historical figure in conversations.	Fair Student completes less than ten total "conversations" OR focuses on only one historical figure conversations.	Good Student completes less than twelve total "conversations" OR focuses on only two historical figure conversations.	Excellent Student completes AT LEAST fifteen total "conversations" AND focuses on AT LEAST three historical figures.
