American Symbols

Students will complete the web quest designed by the teacher about American Symbols and why they are important to America's history. This webquest is based on Indiana's standard: 1st Grade SS 1.1.3: Identify American songs and symbols and discuss their origins.

Effort	Excellent The student focused on the project and was respectful during class. The student was comfortable with technology and asking questions.	Good The student was respectful, but did not navigate the webquest well and therefore did not ask questions.	Fair The student was partially focused on the project during class, but was found doing other work or using websites besides the ones provided.	Poor The student was hardly focused on the project. Irrelevant websites were used during the project, and the student did not follow directions.
Completeness	Excellent All assigned questions, drawings, and activities were turned in.	Good The student correctly answered 3/4 of the questions, but still did the drawings and connecting the dots activity.	Fair The student answered half of the questions, but did not draw the flag or connect the dots.	Poor The student did not answer any questions, complete the drawing, or connect the dots, or simply did not turn in the separate sheet of paper.
Understanding Material	Excellent The activities show that the student understood what he or she learned through correctly answering questions. The student could tell a friend about the material.	Good 3/4 of the questions were missed, so the student almost completely understood the assignment.	Fair Half the questions were missed, so the student does not fully understand the material.	Poor No activities were turned in, therefore the student does not understand the material.
