Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to participate in class! NOTE: If you get to the point of having a fair/poor participation grade you will be notified immediately.

	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor or no points 1 pts
Attention	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is on time regularly or early for class.	Good GOOD Student is no more than 5 minutes late for class.	Fair FAIR Student is more than 10 minutes late for class, leaves class more than once for cell phone use or other personal reasons	Poor POOR Student is more than 15 minutes late for class, leaves the class more than twice for cell phone or other personal reasons.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR	Excellent EXCELLENT Student participates in pair, group and class discussions. Will volunteer responces and start conversations	Good GOOD Student participates in pair, group and class discussions. Will volunteer responces	Fair FAIR Student rarely participates in class unless called on, struggles with pair, group and class discussions.	Poor POOR Student never participates in class, does not participate in pair, group or class discussions.
PREPARATION	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is always prepared for class with assignments and required materials punctually. Student takes notes without being prompted to.	Good GOOD Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.	Fair FAIR Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.	Poor POOR Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.
