Proficient Uses fairy tale beginning and ending. Setting and characters are developed but the setting needs more detail.	Apprentice Only a fairy tale beginning or an ending- not both. Difficult to know what the setting is.	Novice Did not use fairy tale beginning or ending. Setting under developed.
Magic and Characters	Distinguished Has well described magical or fantasy-type events. Has well developed good and evil characters with other minor characters.
