Format/ Relating to Day of the Dead	Poor Fails to meet most format criteria. Does not make connections to the Day of the Dead.	Fair Some but not all format criteria are met. A major criteria was not met. Does make reference to the Day of the Dead.	Excellent Meets all format criteria. Relates essay to the Day of the Dead and makes comparisons and contrasts.
Grammar and Spelling	Poor Several significant punctuation and/or usage errors. Spelling errors.	Fair Minor error of punctuation or ussage and a spelling error.	Excellent No grammatical or spelling errors.
