Content Development of ideas and material in blog post.	Advanced Communicates an original point of view, communicates content relevant to audience, uses strong support and interesting information about all perspectives of blog entry.	Proficient Communicates an original point of view, using support and interesting information about all perspectives of an issue on blog.	Basic Communicates a point of view, but may be vague or merely echo previous posts without contributing original ideas or support.	Below Basic Fails to communicate the topic, or there are no postings.
Organization The organization and structure of the blog post.	Advanced The blog is extremely well organized; contains a well written introduction and conclusion that engage readers in the piece and help them navigate the written piece, Paragraphs contain a single, well developed topic, spacing and special characters are used to add to the organization of the blog.	Proficient The blog is well organized; contains an introduction and conclusion that help readers navigate the written piece, Paragraphs contain a single topic, proper spacing is used throughout, special characters and formatting may be overused or confusing at times.	Basic The blog is organized; may be missing an introduction or conclusion, Paragraphs does not consistently contain a single topic, spacing is not consistent, special characters and formatting may take away from the meaning of the blog.	Below Basic No postings, or blog is hard to read/understand due to lack of organization.
Style and Writing Convention Variety of word choice, spelling and grammar.	Advanced Very effective word choice and varied sentence structure contribute to a very clear and powerful written piece. There are very few errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.	Proficient Good word choice and sentence structure contribute to an appropriate and mostly effective written piece. There are some errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.	Basic Adequate word choice and sentence structure contribute to a somewhat appropriate and effective written piece. There are several errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.	Below Basic Inappropriate word choice or problems with sentence structure completely obscure meaning; The errors make the writing too difficult to understand, or there are no postings.
Amount of Content Post must be between 150-400 words.	Advanced Student creates a post with a minimum of 200 words, and does not ramble or add vague content to fill the page.	Proficient Student creates a post with a minimum of 150 words, and does not ramble or add vague content to fill the page.	Basic Student creates a post with a minimum of 150 words, but may use filler or ramble to reach the minimum amount.	Below Basic Student creates a post with less than 150 words, or rambles or adds vague content to fill the page.
Referencing Referencing sources of images, materials, and videos used in posts.	Advanced Always uses references as appropriate, with no errors in formatting.	Proficient Uses references as appropriate most of the time, with few errors in formatting.	Basic Use of references is infrequent, with some errors in formatting.	Below Basic No referencing.
