Characterization Infographic

Each student will create an infographic to describe the important character qualities of a character in a novel. Students will include 5-7 character qualities, a quote from the character, and a description in 140 characters or less regarding one of the character qualities they admire most. Students may use an image of the character from online, or they may draw/ create their own original image.

Creativity	Exceeds Expectations Very creative. The infographic is visually stimulating and is seen as eye catching, making the viewer want to look at it.	Meets Expectations The infographic has some hints of creativity. The viewer notices areas of outside of the box thinking.	Needs Improvement Little to no thought was given to the appearance of the infographic. No "outside of the box" thinking was applied.
Works Cited	Exceeds Expectations Student properly cited any images gathered online.	Meets Expectations Student attempted to cite images gathered online, but citations contain mistakes.	Needs Improvement No citations included.
Design	Exceeds Expectations Layout/neatness takes the viewer through the infographic in an efficient and effective way.	Meets Expectations Layout/neatness does not always flow smoothly, disrupting the processing of information. There is a general neatness, however, some areas are distracting.	Needs Improvement There does not appear to be any sense of order to the infographic. The infographic lacks neatness and clarity.
Character elements	Exceeds Expectations The character traits stand out. The quote is highly visible and relates to at least one of the traits included. The connection between the character and the student is made in an effective way.	Meets Expectations The character traits somewhat stand out. There are fewer that the required amount. The quote somewhat relates to one of the traits. The connection between the character and the student is somewhat effective.	Needs Improvement The character traits are less noticeable and fewer that the required amount are present. The quote is missing or does not relate well to the character traits provided. No connection is made between the character and the student, or the connection is not effective.
