Student has a poor ideas/ opinions OR no ideas/ opinions.

Student has a weak ideas/ opinions. hard to find in essay. Does not give a clear explanation of what is going to be in the essay.
Good

Student has an understandable ideas/ opinions. of what essay is going to be about. Purpose of can be understood.
Excellent

Student is able to contruct a strong ideas/ opinions. Easy to find and very clear to what is going to be in the essay. Has a strong stand point in the overall purpose of the essay.
