Format
	Low Performance 5 pts	At or Below Average 6 pts	At or Above Average 8 pts	Exemplary Performance 10 pts
Following Directions	Low Performance Student submits topic 2 weeks late or does not receive approval for topic. No cover page provided for report. Page 1 missing several items and not all topics required are addressed	At or Below Average Student submits topic 1 week or later than date stated in the requirement. Report has a cover page but not per directions. Several items missing from the first page. Some topics required are not addressed thoroughly.	At or Above Average Student submits topic 2-3 days after the approval date stated in the requirement. Report has a cover page and first page but one of the first page requirements is not met. Topics required are addressed.	Exemplary Performance Student submits topic before or by approval date stated in requirement. Report has cover page and first page per directions. Topics required are very well addressed.
Mechanics	Low Performance Report is choppy and poorly written. Evident student is not writing in their voice but are cutting and pasting information. Numerous grammar errors and there are at least seven spelling errors.	At or Below Average Report is not well written. Student strings thoughts together. There are at least 5 grammar errors and 5 spelling errors.	At or Above Average Report is well written with a few minor grammar errors and/or 3 to 5 spelling errors.	Exemplary Performance Report consist of well written paragraphs with no grammar or spelling errors.

Analysis/Evaluation	Low Performance Answer is poorly writtenn and supported. One reason is provided to support the response. Just seems to ramble and the opinion Is not clear or convincing.	At or Below Average Answers at least one of the questions. Responses need work and at least one has supporting detail from the book. Opinion is not obvious.	At or Above Average The critique is written well but not well supported. Uses two to three of the criteria questions that were provided for use.	Exemplary Performance A well written critique consisting of opinion with supporting examples from the book and all three criteria questions are addressed.

May make a recommendation about the book.	Exemplary Performance The conclusion is a well written brief paragraph that summarizes what impressions the book left with you and what you want the reader to know. Makes a recommendation about the book.
