Hemp Braiding 
Students will produce either two bracelets/anklets or create one necklace. Braid should show the use of either the practice braids or a new braid that the student learned. The pieces must contain some type of closure, not just a knot. The inclusion of beads are highly encouraged.

Excellent

Uniform consistent pattern throughout the braid. No variation in thickness, unless it was desired for the pattern.
Proficient

Braid is fairly consistent in pattern, limited flaws. Little variation in thickness.
Developing

The braid contains some flaws within the braid but shows growth. Variation in thickness is high and was not part of the pattern.
Poor

The braid contains major flaws, no consistency. Hard to see the structure of the braid pattern. No consistent thickness.
Creativity

Displays a high-level of creativity in design of the piece.

Excellent

Braid contains a combination of different (new and practice) braids and beads have been nicely incorporated.
Proficient

Braid contains multiple (practice) braids and also incorporated beads.
Developing

Braid contains a single braid (practice) and includes braids.
Poor

Braid contains single braid (practice) and no beads.
Clasp/Ending

Student created functional piece with ending clasp.

Excellent

Student successfully attached clasp and is functional.
Proficient

Student was able to attach clasp but lacks some finesse. Piece is functional.
Developing

Student attempted clasp but finished pieces show some flaws. May or may not be functional.
Poor

Student did not create clasp, not functional.
