Kumihimo Braiding Jewelry Rubric Students will produce two braids, one provided by the teacher and the other is student researched. Rubric Code: RXA2CX4 By nrobbins Ready to use Private Rubric Subject: Vocational Type: Assignment Grade Levels: 9-12

Jewelry Assesment
	Excellent 20 - 18 (N/A)	Proficient 17 - 14 (N/A)	Developing 13 - 12 (N/A)	Poor 11 - 0 (N/A)
Pattern	Excellent Uniform consistent pattern throughout the braid. The two braids appear different.	Proficient Braid is fairly consistent in pattern, limited flaws. The two braids appear different.	Developing The braid contains some flaws within the braid but shows growth. The two braids are somewhat similar in structure.	Poor The braid contains major flaws, no consistency. Hard to see the structure of the two braids.
Color/Contrast	Excellent Chosen colors show great contrast making the pattern highly visible. Colors accent each other.	Proficient Chosen colors have some contrast making the pattern visible. Colors go well together.	Developing Chosen colors lack contrast, hard to see the pattern.	Poor Little thought put towards color selection.
Clasp/Endings	Excellent Student successfully attached clasp and is functional.	Proficient Student was able to attach clasp but lacks some finesse. Piece is functional.	Developing Student attempted to attach clasp but finished pieces show some flaws. May or may not be functional.	Poor Student did not attach clasp, not functional.
Research	Excellent Student used valuable time to research 2nd braid and successfully recreated the braid on their own.	Proficient Student took some time to look for a 2nd braid, learn the steps and recreate the braid to the best of their ability.	Developing Student didn't use time wisely to research a 2nd braid and relied on peers or teacher for the 2nd braid.	Poor Student didn't complete the 2nd braid.
