I was not yet willing to share my thoughts and opinions with the club although I did listen to what others said.
Approaching

I was reluctant to speak and offer my thoughts and ideas to the discussion during my book club meetings.

I found it difficult to listen to others while they were talking.

I participated in the discussion when the teacher asked me to offering some thoughts.

MY comments may have been off topic sometimes.

I used sticky notes at the beginning but did not carry through with this strategy.
