The Outsiders portfolio

This rubric will assist in assessing a project and presentation on the Independent chapter book given by Ms. Wyche. The students will read the selected book and are then to complete a final presentation which will include a project of the student's choice about the book. In addition, they will be presenting this presentation orally.

presentation/organization	Superior Student went above and beyond what was expected. Porfolia is neat, organized and shows a great deal of effort	Excellent Student put a good amount of effotr into the overall appearance and organization of the project and met all expectations	Good Student put some effort into the overall presentation and organization but did not meet all expecations	Poor Student had a hard time putting the project together or, showed little to no effort.
cover page	Superior Student went above and beyond what was expected. Creativity and attention to detail were excellent!	Excellent Student put a good amount of effort into the artistic representation, displaying their work in a creative way.	Good Student put some effort into the visual representation, but could have spent more time on details and creativity. Follow directions?	Poor Student put no effort into visual representation or cover page is not included at all.
Written Responses	Superior The student wrote summaries with excellent details and/or answered questions thouroughly. The student wrote in complete sentences with detail.	Excellent The student wrote summaries with good details. Wrote response sentences to the questions but needed more detail.	Good The student included some summaries and/or chapter questions, but some are missing or lack detail.	Poor Many chapter summaries or responses are missing or lack any attention to detail
