Standing Cube Rubric 
Four sided desktop project. Each side will be completed with information from the book but not duplicated from any other side. When upright, the cube serves as a centerpiece.

Title and Author Name

Good

The title and author is clearly and attractively displayed using block letters. Both are spelled correctly.
Fair

Title or author is difficult to read. Stick letters were used instead of block lettering.
Poor

Either the title or the author is missing or was misspelled. Hastily done.
Favorite Part

Good

The favorite part of the story is clearly identified written. Nothing is left to the imagination and sensory words engaged the reader. Use of color was added and there are no stick figures.
Fair

Writing provides SOME understanding of the book, but it is not evident that the student read it. Some sensory words were used to engage the reader. Writing proves to be vague and does not engage the reader.
Poor

Little effort is demonstrated. Sensory words are not used. No evidence is shown that the book was read.
Book Cover

Good

A new book cover was drawn NOT COPIED that shows some serious thought went into the planning and implementation. Student used color to enhance their new cover.

The Character Study, Setting, Main Plot or Conflict/Resolution are lacking in content. Hastily done or are missing important information needed to engage the reader. Little evidence is provided that student read the book.
Conventions

There are no spelling or grammatical errors and handwriting/typing is attractive and easy to read.

There are a few spelling or grammatical errors.
Poor

There are a number of spelling or grammatical errors and/or information is difficult to read.
4 sided cube

Good

Each side of the cube is filled with information that is attractive and informative. The cube was neatly constructed and there is evidence that a great deal of thought went into planning the layout.

It appears that the student gave some forethought in designing each side of the cube.

Project was randomly put together with no thought or reason. It appears to be hastily done.
