Students will create a map of either an imaginary or a real place. You can also use a book, movie or video game as an inspiration.

Visual Design of map	Excellent Presents information about the topic in a well-organized, interesting, and stimulating manner. Utilizes a variety of different materials and colors, and is uncluttered and pleasing to look at.	Fair Presents information about the topic in a somewhat organized and interesting manner. Shows some thought and planning. Utilizes some different materials and colors, but suffers from being cluttered and/or unorganized at certain points.	Poor Presents information about the topic in an unorganized and uninteresting manner. Shows a lack of thought and planning. Fails to utilizes a variety of different materials and colors.
Writing	Excellent Writing/Text is grammatically correct and spelled correctly. Text style and size and color are easily legible and appropriate for your topic (ex. if it's supposed to be an old pirate's map, then a modern cartoon text match the topic)	Fair Less than two grammar and spelling errors. Text style and size and color is legible and match your map's theme.	Poor More than two grammar and spelling errors.
