Essay Rubric 
Essays are 500 word minimum 750 word maximum. Essays must be submitted on Google Docs only. A reference list must also be included. Essays may be a topic of your choosing. Some options are not limited to but include a biographical essay, analysis of a movement, analysis of a work of art. If there is any question to the integrity of your essay you may be asked to present your mastery of the topic in another manner.

Spelling & Grammar

Your essay should be proofread and spellchecked using Google Docs and other web resources. The less spelling and grammatical errors present, the higher you will score.

Average

Essay has 1-4 spelling or grammar errors
Below Average

Essay has 5-9 spelling or grammar errors
Poor

Essay has too many spelling or grammar errors

Your essays must be 500 words minimum with a soft maximum (you can go over) of 750 words.

Excellent

Meets 500 word minimum requirement.
Average

Essay contains 350 words or less.
Below Average

Essay contains 250 words or less.
Poor

Essay contains 200 words or less.
References
10 %

Not including our class textbook, you must list at least three sources that you referenced in writing your paper. This must be included on the final page of your essay. Use https://www.citationmachine.net/mla to help generate your citations.
