High school students in a science class will compose a short book that explains the fundamental concepts of living things from any of the Kingdoms.

Book Format/Look 10 %	Excellent The book has a cover, title page and is bound together. It looks attractive and is appealing to a child.	Good The book has a cover, title page and is bound together. It looks nice, but could be better.	Fair The book has a cover and may be loosely bound together. It may be slightly messy.	Poor It is messy and may be missing a cover, title page. It may not be bound together.
Scientific Content 40 % (Keep in mind, each scientific concept likely includes vocabulary too advanced for young students, each term must be included in your story. It is your job to explain them using analogies or other creative language so the audience can make some sense of the complex terminology.)	Excellent The book appeals to both Primary and Secondary students. In an age-appropriate, engaging and enjoyable fashion, the scientific concepts are integrated into the story.	Good The story is appropriate and appealing for young students. Most of the scientific vocabulary is made easy to understand. The story is enjoyable to the audience. Most of the scientific concepts are integrated into the story.	Fair The story is mostly appropriate for young students. Most of the vocabulary is easy to understand, but the story does not hold the audience's attention. Only a few scientific concepts are used.	Poor None of the scientific concepts are explained.
