News Cast Report and Presentation-Spanish 3 
Directions: Create a dialogue between a news reporter and an interviewee on an event that happened. Write out the dialogue and record the skit for the class. Include in your dialogue and skit: -A news story that is school appropriate -Have at least 5 lengthy-sentence lines of dialogue each. -Dialogue must be memorized. -Use at least 7 preterite verbs in the dialogue using at least 4 different verbs. Also, 5 of the preterite verbs must be irregular.

Student attempts to demonstrate accurate pronunciation, fluency, clarity, and high volume in speaking but makes some errors. He/she may only have 4 medium length lines or 5 short lines.
Poor (D/F) 1 pts.

Student makes numerous errors in pronunciation, fluency, clarity or displays low volume. He/she only has 2 medium length lines or 3 short lines.
Vocabulary

Excellent (A) 4

The news report/interview gives detailed descriptions using an extensive variety of relevant phrases from vocabulary pages and outside resources.
Good (B) 3 pts.

The news report/interview gives detailed descriptions using an adequate variety of relevant phrases from vocabulary pages and outside resources.
Fair (C) 2 pts.

The news report/interview gives descriptions using limited and repetitive vocabulary. The dialogue/skit uses phrases from one source only.
Poor (D/F) 1 pts.

The news report/interview displays little to no descriptions of events using very limited and repetitive vocabulary. There is evidence that much of the script has been automatically translated.
Grammar/ Spelling

Excellent (A) 4

The script has no or minimal grammatical/spelling errors and is completely in Spanish.
Good (B) 3 pts.

The script has some minor grammatical/spelling errors and is completely in Spanish.
Fair (C) 2 pts.

The script has numerous minor or some major grammatical/spelling errors and is completely in Spanish.
Poor (D/F) 1 pts.

The script has numerous major or minor grammatical/spelling errors. The meaning may not be well understood and some words may be in English.
Effort/Creativity/Enthusiasm

Excellent (A) 4

Clear evidence of effort put forth by the student. Script is organized and creative. The skit is entertaining, uses multiple props, and the student demonstrates apparent enthusiasm.
Good (B) 3 pts.

Some evidence of effort. Script is organized and creative. The skit is somewhat entertaining, uses limited props, and the student demonstrates some enthusiasm.
Fair (C) 2 pts.

Little evidence of effort. Script is somewhat organized and slightly creative. The skit is a little entertaining and uses at least one prop. The student demonstrates very little enthusiasm.
Poor (D/F) 1 pts.

No evidence of effort put forth by the student. Script is not organized nor creative. The skit is not entertaining and uses no props. The student does not demonstrate enthusiasm.
