Understanding	Beginning Student shows a minimal understanding content/literary elements and how it can be applied to his or her everyday life.	Progressing Student shows a somewhat complete understanding of content/literary elements and how it can be applied to his or her everyday life.	Proficient Student shows a complete understanding of content/literary elements and how it can be applied to his or her everyday life.
Organization	Beginning Reflection consists of only 2 sentences.	Progressing Reflection consists of only 3 sentences.	Proficient Reflections consists of 4+ sentences.
Grammar and language	Beginning Demonstrates a lack of control over language including vocabulary, and grammar. Reflection is not in an organized structure. Errors disrupt the flow of communication.	Progressing Demonstrates inconsistent control of language including vocabulary, and grammar. Organization of the reflection's structure may or may not be evident. Errors detract from communication.	Proficient Demonstrates control of language including vocabulary, and grammar within an organized structure. Errors do not interfere with communication.
