Persuasive Essay 
Student persuasive essay that uses support to back up their argument. TEK-ELA 4.19 Students will write persuasive texts to influence the attitudes or actions of a specific audience on specific issues. 4.19A Students will write persuasive essays for appropriate audiences that establish a position and use supporting details.

Introduction Paragraph

The student did not have the three parts of the introduction.

The student attempted an opinion statement, but used "I think". student did not follow directions when writing the introduction paragraph or did not have a structure.
Good 4

The student had the three parts of the introduction including an exemplary opinion statement and fluid organization.
Conclusion Paragraph

Poor 1

The student did not use the main idea to bring their paper to a close.
Fair 2-3

The student used the main idea to end the paper and restated the opinion statement, but did not restate the ideas clearly.

The student restated the opinion statement, showed good organization, and had a creative and original ending.
