Your Own Words What the quote means to the writer in their own words.	Exceeds The student was able to rewrite the quote in their own words to tell what it means to them in a complete and clear sentence.	Meets The student was able to rewrite the quote in their own words but was not able to give it in a complete and clear sentence.	Fair The student was able write little when rewriting the quote in their own words OR The student does not rewrite the quote in their own words.
An Example The writer gives an example of an experience they had to the meaning of the quote.	Exceeds The student gives an exceptional example of an experience they had to the meaning of the quote.
