Evernote Journal 
Student journals will address current events or quotes provided by the teacher on a daily or weekly basis. Students will practice responding thoughtfully using multiple sources to effectively communicate information and opinions. The entries and presentation will need to include relevant information, at least 2 examples, graphics, any shortcuts, and be paraphrased. The organization of the notes should be digital and able to be shared with students via Evernote.

Student take notes where information is either summarized or paraphrased from the originial or is placed in quotations to indicate a quote. Information can also be in the form of ideas and details not necessarily full sentences. Student includes at least 2 examples.

Notes taken as ideas and details. Quotes may not be clearly marked. Student only includes one example.
Fair

Student copies information directly from the source without indicating a quote. Student does not include any examples.
Poor

Notes are incomplete and will not be of use to provide information.
Use of tools

Excellent

Student uses journal and/or presentation tool effectively and is able to get the message across to the audience with no questions.
Good

Student uses journal and/or presentation tool in a way that might work for some. Message is not easily seen and audience has some questions.
Fair

Student uses a journal and/or presentation tool but the notes and presentation make no sense because student chose the wrong tool.

Student does not use the tool effectively at all.

Student work makes no sense. The graphics may or may not be present or appropriate. The organization makes the entry had to look at and comprehend.

Student work is missing or lacks all of the WOW factors. Indicates little effort.
