Students present information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. The Introduction and Conclusion are highly effective.
Proficient

Students present information in logical sequence which audience can follow. The Introduction and Conclusion are sufficient.
Emerging

Audience has difficulty following presentation because students jump around. The Introduction and Conclusion are somewhat vague and therefore not truly effective.
Poor

Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. There is no clear Introduction and/or Conclusion.
Subject Knowledge

Exemplary

Students demonstrate full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Proficient

Students are at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fail to elaborate.
Emerging

Students are uncomfortable with information and are able to answer only rudimentary questions.
Poor

Students do not have grasp of information; students cannot answer questions about subject.
Presentation Aids

Exemplary

Students use highly effective presentation aids which add significant depth to presentation.

Students use adequate presentation aids which are relative to presentation.

Students use presentation aids which are somewhat relative to presentation.

Eye Contact & Body Language

Exemplary

Students maintain eye contact with audience, seldomly returning to notes. Body Language is confident, poised, and natural.
Proficient

Students maintain eye contact most of the time but frequently return to notes. Body Language is somewhat confident, poised, and fairly natural.
Emerging

Students occasionally use eye contact, but still read most of report. Body Language lacks some confidence and poise; posture/gestures are somewhat unnatural and forced.
Poor

Students read all of report with no eye contact. Body Language does not exude confidence or poise; posture/gestures are awkward and unnatural.
Verbal Mechanics & Enunciation

Exemplary

Students use strong, clear, projected voices so that all audience members can hear. Vocal tone changes naturally and keeps presentation interesting. Students use correct, precise pronunciation of terms with an exceptional vocabulary. No misspellings or grammatical errors.
Proficient

Students' voices are somewhat clear and loud enough for audience to hear. Students pronounce most words correctly. Some Very few misspellings and/or grammatical errors.
Emerging

Students' voices are low. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation. Students pronounce several terms incorrectly. Several misspellings and/or grammatical errors.
Poor

Students mumble and speak too quietly for audience to hear. Many terms are pronounced incorrectly. Many misspellings and/or grammatical errors.
