Building a Musical Instrument Project
Task: Students will construct & present a homemade musical instrument. Student will present what materials were chosen, how constructed, quality of sound, and how sound is produced. Students will play a simple tune using this instrument, and demonstrate volume & pitch control, explaining how to control each. A PowerPoint presentation will also be assembled by each student, serving as visual aid for explanations each student gives regarding their instrument.

Student included all 4 components required in the presentation. He or she did so without prompts from the teacher.
Meets Standard
Student included 2-3 components required in the presentation without prompting from the teacher.
Does Not Meet Standard
Student includes 1 (or no) component required in the presentation without prompting. There is little motivation seen.
Team work
Exceeds Standard
Student worked well in their team. Assisted each other, were able to verbalize themselves well
Meets Standard
Student worked with their team but were more interested in their own instrument than assisting other team members.

Student did not work well in their team.
