The poet has some emotion in their voice, or reflects the poem oddly sometimes. The poet does not project very well.
Good
The poet has little to emotion in their voice. The poet does not project loudly enough at all.
Poor
The poet has no emotion in their voice. The poet speaks too low.
Fluency
Excellent
The poet performs their poem with little/no stammers. The poet's voice is articulate and easy to understand.
Fair
The poet stammers more than a few times. The poet's voice is unsteady at times and may be unclear at some points.
Good
The poet stammers profusely. The poet's voice is undecipherable at many points.
Poor
The poet's stammers through the entire presentation. It is difficult for the audience to understand.
Physical Posture
Excellent
Student employs proper posture and gestures, is relaxed and confident, and maintains appropriate audience contact.
Fair
Student employs proper posture and gestures, is relaxed and confident, and maintains appropriate audience contact most of the time or is lacking in one of these elements.
Good
Presentation is lacking in two or more of the criteria.
Poor
The student slouches, looks uncomfortable and makes no effective contact with the audience at all. Tension and nervousness is obvious.
