Students will create an illustrated glossary of poetry terms. Students will choose 5 poetry terms for which they will provide a definition, two examples, and an illustration

Definitions Provide a correct definition for each term.	Needs Improvement Wrong definitions are written down.	Good Definitions are complete, but not in kid friendly language.	Excellent The definitions provided are correct, clear, and easy to understand.
Illustrations Provide an illustration for each term.	Needs Improvement Pictures are not relevant to the definition, term, or examples. OR Illustrations missing/incomplete.	Good Pictures are complete and somewhat relevant to the definition, term, or example.	Excellent Pictures are relevant to the given definition, term, or example.
Examples Provide two examples for each term.	Needs Improvement Examples missing OR inappropriately matched to term.	Good Examples present and correct, but do not enhance understanding of term or definition.	Excellent Examples are present, correct, and enhance understanding of the term and/or definition.
Construction/Effort Glossary must include a cover and page numbers, and must look neat and finished.	Needs Improvement Student put forth minimal effort, as glossary looks incomplete or rushed. OR glossary is missing one or more of the required elements.	Good Student put forth some effort and glossary looks complete and contains all required elements. Minor mistakes in spelling, grammar, etc. are present.	Excellent Student put forth maximum effort, resulting in a glossary that contains all required elements and looks complete, polished, and professional.
