Students will be evaluated by the following rubric when asked to answer a short response question/or Essay question on the assessment.

	Poor 0.5 pts	Fair 0.75 pts	Good 1 pts	Superior 1.25 pts
Restates Question	Poor Little information from the orginial question is used in the response provided.	Fair Some of the information from the original question was used to restate the question and create a response.	Good Most of the original question is used and restated to form the beginning of the response.	Superior All critical parts of the original question are used to in the restatement of the original question to begin the response.
Details	Poor Few details from the chapter/passage are provided to support their response.	Fair Some details from the chapter/passage are provided to support their response.	Good Many details from the chapter/passage are provided to support their response.	Superior The student uses all details possible from the chapter/passage to support their response.
Grammar, Punct., Capital.	Poor The student uses few of the rules for proper sentence structure and punctuation.	Fair The student uses some of the rules for proper sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.	Good The student uses most of the rules for proper sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.	Superior The student uses all of the rules to create a response that includes proper sentence structure, grammar, puctuation, and capitalization.
