Active participation/attendance is expected of all graduate students. This chart shows the level of participation for the quarter.

	Poor or no points 70 pts	Fair 80 pts	Good 90 pts	Excellent 100 pts
ATTENDANCE 25%	Poor Student is absent for 3 or more weeks of class.	Fair Student is absent for 1- 2 classes and does not provide reasonable excuses.	Good Student is absent the 1-2 classes and provides reasonable excuses.	Excellent Student is present at every class meeting, or provides an excellent excuse for missing 1 class.
PUNCTUALITY 25%	Poor Student is often late, four or more times.	Fair Student is sometimes on time (late three or four times).	Good Student is usually on time or early (tardy one or two times).	Excellent Student is on time regularly or early for class.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR 25%	Poor Student never participates in class, does not participate in discussions. Comments, when offered, are often uninformed and rely more on being heard than benefitting class discussion.	Fair Student rarely participates in class, struggles with discussions. Comments are often uninformed and not additive or informative for class discussion.	Good Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in discussions. Most importantly, input is additive, but not of highest caliber.	Excellent Student brings original thought and perspective to discussion. Quality of input and contribution is very high. Maintains active involvement throughout quarter.
PREPARATION 25%	Poor Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Fair Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Good Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Excellent Student is always prepared for class with assignments and has clearly read and thought through the assigned materials.
