Sewing Plastic Canvas Sewing Performance Final This rubric will measure the abilities of students to thread a needle, hand stitching, and complete a sewing project by the end of nine weeks. 	Distinguished 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Basic 2 pts	Below Expectations 1 pts
threading a needle Students demonstrate their ability to successfully thread a needle.	Distinguished Student is able to thread a needle correctly without any help.	Proficient Student is able to thread a needle correctly with minor help.	Basic Student is able to thread a needle correctly with major help.	Below Expectations Student is not able to thread a needle.
hand stitching PIN CUSHION students will learn how to hand stitch in order to complete their sewing projects for the lesson.	Distinguished Student is able to hand stitch without any guidance.	Proficient Student is able to hand stitch with minimum guidance.	Basic Student is able to hand stitch with maximum guidance.	Below Expectations Student is not able to hand stitch with or without help.
completed projects Students will present completed project for final test of their ability to successfully hand stitch.	Distinguished Student presents completed projects in perfect condition. Has completed all steps in order to present a completed project without any assistance.	Proficient Student presents completed projects in good condition. Has completed all steps in order to present completed projects with minor assistance.	Basic Student presents completed projects in fair condition. Has completed projects with maximum assistance.	Below Expectations Student presents uncompleted projects in poor condition. Has not completed projects with or without assistance.
